Weekend Winter Style

I am a bargain shopper, for sure.

Always have been. I have also always been a lover of all things shopping. When I used to not have any bills in high school and college (oh, what a life that was) I would spend any extra money on new clothes, shoes and beauty products. I still would be doing that if I could.

But since I came into the world of adulting, money is tight and instead of going out to buy new clothes whenever I want, I’ve had to piece together inexpensive clothes I’ve had for years to make “new” outfits. Basically, I’ve had to get pretty creative!

Winter is my favorite time of year to dress, so I’m lucky to live in Vermont where it’s cold for more months than it is hot, or even warm for that matter. I love to layer, wear big chunky scarves, and boots – I much prefer that over tank tops, shorts and having to get a pedicure to wear any decent footwear. I do love dresses, so I try to make those work year round!

Today, I wore a couple newer pieces, most of which I bought with gift cards (like I said, money is tight around here and I wasn’t kidding). I typically pair black, white, grey, or neutral shades with just a pop of color somewhere, with neutral or black shoes. I stayed with that trend today, and wanted to share with you where I got everything I was wearing today to prove you can piece together a great inexpensive look!

Shirt: AEO Soft & Sexy longsleeve/open shoulder (apparently this doesn’t exist anymore… here is one similar here), bought at AEO Outlet for $11.99

Jeans: Old Navy Curvy Mid-Rise Straight Leg, bought over 3 years ago for $19.99 during one of their denim sales

Scarf: ModCloth Loch and Key Blanket Scarf, was a part of the FabFitFun box I got this winter with a promo code

Boots: Laura Scott Women’s Amanda Taupe Ankle Boot, bought in-store at Sears for $21.99

Necklace: Lovoda Plate Stone Necklace in Rose, received as a Christmas gift for $20.00

I have so many pieces that I bought back in my addictive shopping days that I wore one time or less that I am trying to sell on Poshmark, an app that allows you to sell clothes and new makeup to followers and girls around the nation that are also members of the app. I’ve sold quite a few things, but most of my best pieces haven’t been snatched up yet! If you are interested, my Poshmark username is tdeal9 🙂
